Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22 in Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian armed forces launched missile strikes targeting nine terrorist camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir late Tuesday night, as part of “Operation Sindoor.” This military operation has received praise from the public and Bollywood celebrities alike. Actress Hina Khan also voiced her opinion on the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.
On Friday, Hina posted a heartfelt note on her social media, stating that while no one wins in a war, it is innocent lives that suffer the most. She emphasized that responding to the attack in Pahalgam was crucial and made it clear that she stands firmly with the Indian army, offering her full support.
However, her post has led to her receiving numerous threats. Hina shared this experience on her Instagram story, revealing that despite facing hate and abuse for supporting her country, she is proud to be Indian. Some individuals have cursed her, unfollowed her, and others even threatened to do so after her support for India.
In her Instagram story, Hina wrote, “Throughout my life, I have always witnessed love from across the border. After supporting my country during and after Operation Sindoor, many of you have hurled abuses at me, cursed me, and some have unfollowed me. Many are now threatening to unfollow me. The actress, who is battling Stage 3 breast cancer, mentioned that these threats have involved personal attacks on her health, family, and religious beliefs. Along with these threats, there has been an increase in vulgarity and malicious comments not only directed at me but also at my medical condition, my family, and even my faith.”
Hina concluded, “I don’t expect everyone to support my country. It’s perfectly fine to support your own country. I only hope that you will show the same level of human decency that I have shown to all of you. But I believe this is where the difference lies. If I am not Indian, I am nothing. I will always remain an Indian first. So, if you choose to unfollow me, I don’t care. I have done nothing wrong to any of you except supporting my country. Your thoughts reflect your ideology.
