In the 34th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced Punjab Kings (PBKS). Punjab secured a 5-wicket victory in this match. This was RCB’s fourth loss in seven matches, while it marked Punjab’s fifth win in seven matches. RCB suffered their third consecutive defeat at their home ground.
While chasing the target, Punjab Kings had a shaky start. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, who came in as an ‘Impact Substitute,’ couldn’t contribute much. Prabhsimran was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar after scoring 13 runs, while Priyansh was out for 16 runs, dismissed by Josh Hazlewood. At the time of Priyansh’s dismissal, Punjab’s score was 32 for two wickets. From there, Shreyas Iyer and Josh Inglis took Punjab’s score past 50.
Josh Hazlewood struck again in the eighth over, dismissing Shreyas Iyer and Josh Inglis, reducing Punjab Kings to 53 for four wickets. Shreyas scored 7 runs, and Inglis made 14. Thereafter, a 28-run partnership between Nehal Wadhera and Shashank Singh brought Punjab closer to victory. However, Shashank could only score 1 run before being dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
